Syllabus

​Course Overview:
​

This class will examine Western Philosophy and Eastern Philosophy. The class will also include discussion and examination of a variety of thoughts, ideas, parables, and personal beliefs. The Philosophy 101 class can be provocative and challenge a variety of thoughts and ideas. ​

Assignments:
​

Socratic Seminars. 10 Socratic Seminars, one every other week, Students will prepare and engage in a group Socratic Seminar following the Socratic Seminar Rubric. 50 points each (10 Socratic Seminars total /500 points total)
​
​Class Participation. 20 weeks of class Participation 25 Points each. Class Participation includes asking questions to other students, completing readings, debating ideas, formulating arguments, etc.- see Class Participation Rubric.
